Charlie

When we first met Charlie, she was a pretty sad dog. Yes, she was aggressive and dangerous, but we felt sorry for her, since it was obvious to us that her behavior was not in her control.
Her family reached out to us after working with other trainers both in classes and in one-on-one settings. Unfortunately, Charlie could not handle the pressures of training, which resulted in her biting her owners. Still, they loved her and wanted a solution that would make everyone safe and allow Charlie to be included in their lives and able to enjoy their weekend home in northern Michigan.
Charlie, as a result of genetics, was not in control of her aggressive responses to the world. A proper diagnosis and extensive treatment lead to behavioral interventions that worked. Today, she is living life in harmony with her family, their friends, and loves her adventures at the cottage.

“Jim Lessenberry is the best! Our dog Charlie was a rescue and had many behavioral issues. We went to a couple of other reputable trainers in our area and their approach was basic and didn’t address the really deeply rooted problems she had. Jim came to our home and did a thorough evaluation of her and came up with a game plan. He took Charlie for several weeks to work with her one on one. He got down to the root of her issues and corrected them as well as built her up. When he met with us during the process to teach us how to work with and handle her, it was incredible. When he ultimately transferred her and the training back to us we were able to walk her through a very busy and dog filled area and we had complete control and Charlie had a new sense of confidence. We can’t say enough great things about him and his organization. Also, he has top notch facilities and staff. We board with ALS when we have to go out of town and they take great care of her. They will work with her and make sure she is well taken care of. You cannot go wrong with Animal Learning Systems.”
